Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. Her siblings include two half-brothers and half-sisters, and a younger brother, sister and a half-sister. The Miley's parents chose her with the hope they would have her succeed. Miley became her childhood name Smiley because of its cheerfulness. Her paternal great-grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education at Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. After she reached the age of eighteen, Cyrus and her family moved to Toronto in Canada which is where Billy Ray, Cyrus's father played the role of Doc (2001) in TV. Cyrus began her acting career during this period. Her father played her in the film, Doc (2001), in the beginning of this movie. Then, in 2003 she had a minor part in Tim Burton's Big Fish. Cyrus was as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show about a teenage girl who leads a double-life as a singer) in the role of Hannah Montana, who is the protagonist. Her father also starred alongside her. The show's success led to the show was followed by hit albums with sold-out shows and deals for merchandise. Cyrus was a popular teen star. After the success of Hannah Montana 2006, Cyrus began to play other role. Cyrus played Ronnie Miller and Lola alongside Demi Moore in The Last Song 2010 and LOL 2012.
